Ceiling fan light does not work
We have a ceiling fan and last week, pulled the chain to turn off the light. Replaced the switch twice and changed light bulbs and still does not work.

Took fixture to a lighting store to find replacement(not available). The salesman looked at light fixture, said it was wired correctly. He put a bulb in it and tested it and it worked at the store. He suggested we sandpaper to tabs where the light bulbs screw in, and we did. Took it home, hooked up the wires, and the light still does not work. Fan still works. Took it apart and rechecked connections and no results.

Yeah, I know 20 yrs old, but really would to see if easy fix instead of getting new one.

    Thanks,

Is there a remote and/or a wall switch in addition to the chains?

On that fan, when you put the light fixture back on you have plug into the molex connector. Some times the Blue wire gets pushed out through the back end . Make sure the blue wire is pushed in all the way on both sides. Or contact these people http://www.casablancafanrepaircenter.com

A molex connector is a white square piece with a male & female ends, one is attached to wire from the fan and the other is attaché to the switch housing (light) & they get plugged together. In the process of pluging them together a wire can sometimes get pushed out. In your case that wire should be blue. If that doesn't do it let me know and I can help further, GOOD LUCK!
