I am being haunted and want it to stop
About a year ago I used to wake up in the middle of the night to see a shadow figure standing over me, and I became so a costumed to this that instead of jumping out of bed I would pinch myself to make sure I was awake and it was not my eyes playing tricks on me.

This went on for 6 months and just stopped.
Now this past week has picked back up but much worse,to name a few things. I heard scratching on my pillow, when I am falling asleep the past 3 times I have had a nudge on the bed as if someone walked into it or pushed the bed.
And I hear something walking around the room at night pacing from left to right.

I am married and I am scared to tell my wife in fear of thinking I am going crazy or something. I have woken her a few times in the past when I seen the shadow figure and told her I woke her because of a bad dream.I am now not able to sleep I fear that this is not a friendly ghost or whatever this is.
I need some words of advice on how to stop this can anyone help me please thank you..

If the bed is being moved, if there is noise on the pillow, do you think that your wife would not be hearing this also ?

My wife is a deep deep sleeper and I have trouble sleeping at night. There was one time when we both heard something moving in the room at night we had just laid down 5 or 10 minutes previously so she was not in full rem sleep. We both stuck our heads up and looked at each other and said no way. I was in the marines and we both currently work in law enforcement. You can take my word when I say I hear something or see something I am 100% sure. If you have some advice I would be grateful thank you.

These manifestations are something I hear a lot about and it usually is building towards something bigger. I wouldn't fear what your wife might think of you. You never know, she may have things SHE is experiencing around that home that she is afraid to tell YOU about. I would update her about what you are going through. This is not a "ghost" as you think of it. It is a demon spirit and you need to have it removed. How long were you in the home before these things started up? Can you think of any reason it might be there? Any involvement in the occult or dabbling with a Ouija board.. anything like that? Someone in the church, any denomination that will listen, needs to come and take care of this for you. I am not talking about having the home "blessed". I am referring to someone removing it. Again, I first suggest you talk to your wife about this... then together talk to the church about it.

When you saw the figure standing by your bed for the first time what did you do?
Did this happen every night ? Did it happen at the same time or close to the same time when it happened.
Does it seem to be exactly the same now as is was at first?

I agree with HH that you should talk to your wife about this and see if there are "notes to compare " you haven't talked to each other about. Communication helps strengthen relationships and the bonds we share with others by demonstrating your faith in them that allows you to share things you do not share with others.

I know paranormal events happen worldwide on an everyday basis.

I am a believer in looking into every possibility I can reasonably find before I make up my mind about what it may or may not be and how I intend to react to it.
Recon before you invade , know what you need to overcome and do you need to adapt , to paraphrase some Marine teaching to the best of my limited knowledge of Marine training.

A clergyman with experience in these matters can be invaluable as HH points out, and may be the only effective action against a demonic presence if it is determined that is what it is.

HH and the good Padre and myself may see things somewhat differently but I would trust all I have to either one of them with no hesitation . They both are intelligent , aware and worthy being trusted.

I encourage you to check the information in this link also

It may give you some perspectives to consider or not. Only you can really be the judge of that. You know what you experienced and what may best apply to your situation.

I know the fear, confusion, and doubt that can accompany dealing with this and empowering yourself in ways to view and deal with this is an excellent start.

Katie, feel free to start your own question in the paranormal forum. Trying to answer and give advice to more than one question in a thread can get confusing. If you want to talk, start a new thread please.

Gnarkill/capenter - I'm glad your issue seems to be resolved. Many times the spirit just wants the home and will stay there after people move out. Lot's of luck to the people who bought the home!
