    Ovulation
My husband and I are trying to have a baby and according to the calendars I'm ovulating today but took a test and it came back negative. Did I miss our chance to get pregnant this month or can we still get pregnant,

What "test" did you take today ? If you took a home pregancy test, it would not show up till after you miss your next period.

Also how are you tracking your ovulation to know you were doing it today?

It was an ovulation test not a pregnancy test. And I use all the ovulation calendars online and they were saying I was ovulating.

Those calendars, even the tests, are just a prediction based on the information you put in. They are not foolproof and actually have a pretty high margin for error.

Now, if you are trying to conceive, you should be having sex for approximately the three days PRIOR to your ovulation as it takes the sperm 3-5 days to reach the egg after ejaculation.

For example, if you are expecting to ovulate on March 1, you should start having sex during the last week of February.

I wish you luck. Just remember that it can take a healthy couple up to a year or more of actively trying before conceiving. Don't get discouraged!

How long have you been using the ovulation predictor tests? Be sure to start testing about a week before you suspect ovulation. The tests show a rise in a hormone associated with your body preparing for ovulation, not that you actually are ovulating, but it gives you an idea of when it might be best to start trying. Often, when you get a positive result, you might ovulate within the next couple of days. Pregnancy is most likely to occur when the sperm are already waiting in the few days leading up to ovulation.
