    18 hp Briggs and straton NO spark when hot
    I have a 18 hp briggs and straton Model 381447-0272-e1
    It is mounted on a carpet cleaning machine.
    It has an initial problem of running for about a 15 minutes to a half hour then shutoff. (after it gets hot)
    Originally pulled front cover off while running and pulled the wire for the coils (has 2)
    The left coil when unplugged shut the motor off , The right coil when unplugged did nothing, No changes in the running.
    Made sense to me that meant the coil was bad , Replace both coils and still the same problem
    When the engine gets hot. It loses spark in the # 2 cylynder

    After reading, I a mthinking that maybey the magneto? I see a couple people say that a magneto failure would result in loss of spark on one side, But wouldn't kill it,
    I'm also thinking that maybey the ground wire between the 2 plugs could be getting hot, but wouldn't that kill both side?

    Check the wire going to the coil , see if it has 2 diodes in it if so replace this harness .
