Knee injury, when to see the doctor
I fell almost 3 weeks ago. A classic slip type fall. The grass was wet when I walked in it, and then stepped onto the sidewalk, in old old rubber sandals with NO grip left lol. I slid out turned my ankle and hyper extended my knee.

My ankle is getting better slowly. It only hurts a little now when I go up the stairs or do circles with my foot.

My knee however is only getting worse.
It didn't swell at the time, and its not swollen now. But if I stretch my leg out all the way, my knee cap HURTS. And I mean HURTS. REALLY bad. I can't stand it.

Do I need to give my knee more time?
Or should I go see urgent care about it?
Or make an appt with the doctor?

Go see a doctor. Make an appointment with a doctor, its cheaper than the emergency room.

Let them decide its nothing... and if it is something, letting an injury heal improperly could result in surgery in certain cases that makes it far worse.

Jennie - go to see the Doctor before you injure an already injured ankle/knee.

Go and see your doctor, you may need a scan to see if you've damaged your knee ligaments which can be really painful, and take quite a while to heal.

I am not talking about the ER or hospital, but as you asked a Urgent Care Facility, actually while they are slightly higher than some doctor officers, most also have x-ray equipment in the office and most doctors today do not.

    Thanks everyone.
I did end up going to urgent care a few days ago. Forgot to come back here until this was bumped up onto my recent post lists :P

Aparently doc said I tore my ACL or something like that. He said it doesn't seem bad. But its bad enough.

He has me on motrin several times a day and put a wrap thing on my knee, looks like a sleeve with a hole in it lol. Told me to ice it if it does swell,
But also to make sure I ice it at least twice a day even if it Doesn't swell.
Told me to take it easy, don't over work it, but gave me a sheet with stretches to do for it. He gave me crutches too, but only to use if I am going somewhere requiring lots of walking (like the park or grocery store)

He said I don't need any more appointments, and that it might take several more months before it feels better.

Whew. That's a lot sorry lol
