    I have a 1990 Honda Civic DX. It has become increasingly difficult to start.
    When it is cold it seems to run fine once started. After the engine is warm it stalls at stop signs and is very hard to restart. It seems to have good fuel pressure. The ECM is reading code 16, fuel injectors, but the injectors themselves seem to test fine. Also the main relay seems to be working correctly. Any ideas?

    Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil, if they have not been changed in the last 120,000 miles or 10 years. Apply silicone heat transfer grease to the back of the new ICM.

    Make sure the CEL consistently comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, when the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II).

    Is the CEL light supposed to come on if the ICM is functioning?

    If all is functioning correctly the light should go out.
    I think the light could be on or off with a bad ICM.

    CELs usually do not come on, indicating a code was thrown, with a failing ICM--only when they are practically shorting out.

    In a properly functioning Honda, the CEL should come on for 2 seconds, during which time the ECM is checking the electrical system out, and then go out. When it goes out, the ECM is saying everything is fine, as far as it can tell.

    If you like this Car, and it has good Compression, I would do a Good Tuneup, Plugs, Filters, Cap, Wires if needed. Many problem are found and fixed like this.
