Has any one had thyroid disease?
I just got back from the doctors and she thinks I have thyroid disease I have just had a blood test and I go back Monday to find out, so can you treat it with antibiotics? Is it something that will go away over time? Is it long term? Or can I just have an operation to get rid of it as I have an in toleration to antibiotics, has any one else had thyroid disease before? Or know any one who has had it? How did work out for you? And why would she want me to drink cranberry juice? Thanks for your help

Thyroid disease is, in layman's terms, either overactive (hyperthyroid) or underactive (hypothyroid). Neither are caused by bacterial infections, thus no antibiotics are needed.

You seem to have hyperthyroid, which, when many people hear this think that it is a fast metabolism because most people with this tend to lose weight. It is caused by an over production of thyroid hormone (T3 and/or T4) in the thyroid gland. There are several causes but your doctor will have to do the necessary blood work to find out what is causing yours and exactly how to treat it.

    Is hyperthyroid disease really important?
I had a blood test yesterday and the doctor says I might have a urine infection or thyroid disease, I have some symptoms of both she I have to wait till Monday, but she seems to want the results quickly and she seems to want to put me on antibiotics right away, so are both of these things really important? Do they need to be treated right away? If they do the tests on the blood today and they find one or both of those would she call me asap? Sorry for all the questions I just know that when it comes to health it can change very quickly, thanks heaps

OK my symptoms are: back pain, stomach pain, back pain, I need to use the toilet more, I'm more emotional, sleeping less, eating more, but losing weight, sex hurts in certain positions, headaches, I feel sick randomly, I feel sick right after I eat, lying on my stomach hurts, I get cold when its not cold, and the doctor told me she found blood in my urine and I have a cyst on my cervix's not sure if the last one relevant
