    About a separation or divorce re: valuables
    Please Help!

    I would like to know how or when and if I CAN, get my name out of a joint auto loan before a legal separation or divorce? I would like to leave it under his name and take myself from being the co-signer for his auto loan.

    I need to know before starting the process of legal separation, so that I can move back to Puerto Rico and not have to worry if he pays or not and if it'll go on my credit report?

    You would have to pay off the current car loan, or get him to refinance the loan just under his name. So basically it is not going to happen.
    Sorry. The courts can make him responsible, but if he does not pay, it still goes against your credit also, unless there is a new loan made in just his name.

    And unless he is aware of all of this, agrees and is working with you, sorry you can't do it on your own, getting it in just his name is something he will have to do ( he will have to sign and get new loan)

    While My husband was in Prison, I baught a house. He had to sign a disclaimer for me to buy the house. He has been home 15 years now and we are seeking a seteration or divorce can he get part of the houe? We live in Az.
