    Maytag fridge leaks water on floor when defrosting.(Model GC2227EAD3 )
    Thee refrigerator leaks water on the floor when it automatically defrosts. How do I access the defrost tray?

    Sound like defrost drain is restricted... remove shelves and basket from freezer... remove 3 screws from back panel and inspect area below evaporator for ice. Defrost to remove ice and clear restriction of drain by inserting semi-rigid tubing which will enable you to blow through one end to discharge restriction. Run a glass of water through it to ensure that it drains.

    Thank you CURIOUSOHIO. You were perfectly correct and very helpful. The drain has now been cleared. I was trying to clear it from below, which was too hard.
