    Can social services give me information on my ex
    Can social services give me information on my ex partner I have 2 children with him an I have concerns about him being around the children

    No they can not without a court order. What exactly are you trying to find out about them?

    If you have concerns about your ex and he still has access to your children then you should speak to Children's Services about them. You can tell them that you don't know anything but you have concerns and why you do. They can investigate themselves to determine if they have the same concerns. If they do, they won't notify you directly but they will have to take some action to protect the children from him, by law.

    Bear in mind that false accusations are a criminal offense and will be prosecuted. However if you are clear that you are not accusing him that you just have concerns they will take that into consideration. I'm not sure exactly what types of concerns you have, but you may want to share them with your children's Doctor, school counselor, a therapist, etc. Your children's health and welfare MUST be a priority, but accusations should never fly lightly. If there is a custody or visitation battle going on with no police reports or witnesses coming forward with concerns, you will probably appear to be a vindictive ex. Regardless, if you truly feel the kids could be in danger now then you have to report it. Also, if there is a custody or visitation battle going on, you could just ask for limited, supervised visitation. The court will ask why and you will have the opportunity to give your reasons and say that because of those reasons you would at the very least request a Child Abuse Register check prior to a decision being made. The court could order a Registry check in those circumstances.
