    Work overseas 40 years residense CA retireinf FL do I have to pay Cal. TX
    I was drafted into the US Army from Los Angeles Ca. In 1966, at that time LA Calif. Was my residence .

    Since that time I have lived in the state only once. I was still in the military and was station at FT. Ord CA

    For approximately 18 Mo (1969). I served 20 years in the US Army and after I retired from the Army I

    Was hired as a civilian working for Department of the Army. So after some 44 years of government

    Service I want to retire on Aug 2011, at which time I will be 66 years old. The retirement state I have

    Selected is Florida. I have a Florida address and I am registered to vote in the state. My question is

    This…[B]once I retire will I still be libel to pay California state taxes?

    Do you mean 2012, not 2011?
    Once you retire you will pay state taxes to the state you reside in.
