    Felon's financial right
I've heard through the grapevine that we are entitled to an unknown amount one released. We would receive it on a monthly basis- basically paying a few hundred dollors for the time of incarcerated, and then also prior to imprisonment and following.

    Is this an Urban Legend.

It is a down right lie, I have never even heard of such a Urban legend, there are urban legend about grants for felons ( but there are not any)

No in Georgia you are given 75 dollars and a bus ticket, some states give slightly more. Others if you were in a work program may have saved some money in prison ( few hundred perhaps)

    Queen,
It makes absolutely no sense that a person could commit and be convicted of a crime, and taxpayers have to spend money to find them, try and convict them, and incarcerate them, and they would be entitled to some kind of monthly stipend when they get out. Where did you hear this whopper?

Some states do give a prisoner being release a small amount to allow them to get a place to stay and eat for a day or so. This varies by state. In some states, the prisoner does earn a small amount that is paid out when released.

Check with your warden to find out, what, if anything, you might be entitled to.
