Tub Pressure fine - Shower very weak
I've been searching this helpful site and think I have a vague answer, but as it is plumbing, and I am NOT a plumber, I will try to get more specifics.

I'll be as brief as possible.

Slow but sure, shower has become a trickle. Removed shower head and ran water, still a trickle. From what I have gathered from other posts, it sounds like I need to "Flush the valve." If so, could you confirm this, and give me step by step? (I'll list the faucet type at end of post.)

If this ISN'T the solution, any ideas?

It's a One Knobber, it says "Temptrol" in big letters, and in smaller letters says "Symmons Model A".

Also, if this helps with diagnosing this; Again tub is FINE. With water running, then switch to shower mode a la that Slide dealie, it (for the last week or so) takes like 8 seconds for water to come out of the shower.

Any help you can offer would be wonderful. (I live in New England, and just yesterday had to pay $7000 for a new Gas Furnace install. It was unexpected, as is usually the case with homeownership, and as a result REALLY can't afford a plumber at the moment.)

Thank you for ANY hep you can give me!

The slide dealie is the diverter. When you move the diverter does all of the water to the tub stop completely?

Saw that you replied, and I ran to check.LOL
The slightest dribble still comes out of the faucet, when the shower is on. Slight, perhaps, but in a word, No, it does not stop completely.

Hi, I have a serious problem in one of my bathrooms. The cold water pressure of the shower/tub is fine. But when I turned the knob towards the hot, the pressure drops all of a sudden, too low to take a hot shower. The sink 3 feet away has both excellent hot and cold water pressure. I suspect...

Hope someone can help. Our toilets are original to the house, 20-plus years old. When flushed, the swirl isn't strong enough to completely flush the bowl. The bowl does NOT overflow, but it has to be flushed multiple times. We have very hard water where we live, despite having a regularly...

No pressure in tub/shower, fine everywhere else [ 1 Answers ]

I've read a few posts regarding sinks with no pressure, but have not found anything regarding tubs. From what I have read, there has been mention of cleaning the aerator? How do you do this? And could this be my problem? Are there other issues that I should check for? Any help would be greatly...

Recent Drop in Shower/Tub water Pressure [ 3 Answers ]

Yesterday morning my Wife took a shower with fine water pressure (it is low to begin with and I don't have one of the water saving washers installed) but today when I turned on the show the stream was very weak and slowly got weaker until it is now just dripping out of the head. The bath tub is...

Low bath tub and shower pressure [ 2 Answers ]

We had a leak and some pipes had to be changed that lead to the shower head. We also had a new tub faucet installed. Pressure was low to both the shower and tub so we had the plumber return for an adjustment. It was OK for a while, but still not very much pressure. Several months passed and ...
