Recent Drop in Shower/Tub water Pressure
Yesterday morning my Wife took a shower with fine water pressure (it is low to begin with and I don't have one of the water saving washers installed) but today when I turned on the show the stream was very weak and slowly got weaker until it is now just dripping out of the head. The bath tub is disconnected and has the same problem. The sinks in this bathroom and the tub and sinks in the next door bathroom are perfecly fine. It is freezing temperatures outside but I have my upstairs thermostat set at above 70 since the downstairs is still chilly but around 60. I have felt the walls around the shower and tub and I do not feel any damp spots so I don't believe it is a burst pipe. Is there anything else that could have caused this drop in pressure? I have pictures of the assembly before the walls were put in if those might help, the house is only 1 month old.

    Hi Stephen,

Something has got into your pipes and is now blocking the inlet ports of your faucets. But wait! This shouldn't be your comcern. A one month old house has a contractors warranty on it. Contact your builder and have him send out the plumbers that put in the job. This should be done at no cost to you.
    Good luck, Tom

Thanks, I have already called the builder and left a voicemail for him. I am hoping it is something that won't be too much of a hassle to fix though.

I am in escrow on a home, extremely well-maintained, 17-yr old home. The master has a jucuzzi style tub. The faucet has two knobs, one for hot, one for cold. The cold comes out fine. When the inspector turned on the hot water, the faucet leaked and the hot water pressure was low. He...

Low bath tub and shower pressure [ 2 Answers ]

We had a leak and some pipes had to be changed that lead to the shower head. We also had a new tub faucet installed. Pressure was low to both the shower and tub so we had the plumber return for an adjustment. It was OK for a while, but still not very much pressure. Several months passed and ...

Hot water in tub has no pressure [ 2 Answers ]

The hot water faucet in my tub has lost pressure. It barely lets water through. My sink is fine. My faucet is two knobs mounted to the wall, the tub spicket, and an external hand-held shower head. The name on the knobs is Rockwell. The spicket was recently replaced.
