Hi, I am a twenty year old working college kid who has always had passion for life and for my future until this week when I began feeling depressed about why I have been lucky enough to be so fortunate in my life while so many people in other countries as well as here in the U.S. have suffered from hunger and poverty and have never got to experience the joys I've been so lucky to experience. I've always thought of these things but now I cannot seem to find happiness in life anymore because I feel that I do not deserve it since so many people do not have it. Not only have I been fortunate, but I feel like my fortune may has come at the expense of those who have suffered due to the way in which our society is structured, whether that is rational or not. I can't help but feel so ravaged with guilt because of the pain of so many and even when I donate time or money to such causes, I still feel extremely guilty and it has distracted me from my school and work. How can I learn to accept these things and continue to find happiness in my life and do I even deserve to?
