    The legal age of what is called consent is 16 in Georgia now.
    There are still a few things a parent can do in Georgia to keep the adult away from their child, interference with custody if they order the adult to stay away from the child and he takes her somewhere ( date)

    Yes, in Georgia you must be 16 to consent to sex, with no age restrictions.
    Make sure this is OK with the parents of the 17 year old, as they are still that persons guardian. And always be respectful of each other!
