    Connecting multiple printers through a hub?
    I have 4 printers that I need to use continuously for different purposes. I have connected them to a HUB that is has its own power and then to my laptop. I can't get the printers to print, even though I have made sure I have the latest drivers for all of them.

    Each printer works fine if I connect it to the laptop, but does not through the HUB. Any suggestions or help would be so appreciated. I've tried everything I can think of!

    Well do they each have separate IP's on the same subnet ?
    Eg Laptop 192.168.1.5
    Printer 1 192.168.1.10
    Printer 2 192.168.1.20
    Printer 3 192.168.1.30
    Printer 4 192.168.1.40

    Have you changed the driver to print to an IP address ?
    Lastly do you actually mean a HUB as a switch would work better.

    Have you considered investing in a single printer that will do the job of all four, would be cheaper in the long run..

    Test you hub on another computer to make sure the usb hub itself is not faulty.
    Try updating the HUB's drivers.

    Also update you mainboard drivers just in case..

    Thank you so much for your responses.

    GrantHillsSA, I have checked the hub with other items connected through it - i.e.. External drive, flash drives, etc. and it works fine. It is only when I try to connect the printers to it that it doesn't seem to want to communicate. The drivers for the printers have all been updated and are up-to-date. The hub connects to power and is supposedly plug and play.

    CurlyBen, I do mean a hub. As mentioned, it is a plug-and-play, Belkin, 7-port, which gets its power from electricity, not the laptop.

    I have considered investing in a single printer, however the printers I have are all in excellent working condition, perform different functions and I have several cartridges that I purchased and really don't want to throw them away as they cost more than the printers.

    These are my printers:

    Canon ip4000 - photo printing
    Samsung ML2010 - black and white laser
    HP 2110 All-in-one - photocopying, scanning, general colour
    Samsung - CLP - colour laser
    Canon Photo printer

    They are all fairly old printers but work well and I'm happy with them. Now, if I could only get them to talk to my laptop!

    Well first you should have specified that this is a USB Hub. For most of us a hub is a network device.

    I would suggest finding a print server that supports multiple USB printers.
