    If you personally tell a person not to be on your property, can they be charged?
    I have two druggie neighbors who continue to come into my enclosed backyard to "check out" my tool shed in my backyard. I have told them personally I better not catch them in my backyard or near my toolshed again. (They are walking across my 15 acre field to get to the backyard.) I have called the sheriff on them once, to see if I could step it up a notch and asked the deputy to "talk to them" but they were back the next day, cursing and swearing because I called the deputy, Can they be chargd with anything in New York State? Harassment? Trespassing? I am getting really afraid...

    If you can prove they have come onto your property after they have been warned in front of witnesses, then yes, they could be charged with criminal trespass.

    Put surveillance cameras up.

    Put up a no trespassing sign then watch and take pictures. Then call police and file complaint.

    While there is no requirement to put up a no tresspassing sign after they have been warned. But it never hurts.

    But yes, after you tell them, they can be charged
