    Light in fan will not work
    Switch for light seems to be connected to a fuse-how do I fix the problem, the light will not work. I have changed the bulb.

    Is this a ceiling fan? Where is this fuse located?

    This is a ceiling fan and the fuse is connected to the pull chain-when you pull the chain to switch the light on or off the action seems to go through the fuse. I have never seen this kind of a set up-although admittedly I am no expert.

    Why do you say that the switch is connected to a fuse?

    If this is a new install then it is more likely that an error was made during wiring.

    However, if this is an existing installation that all of a sudden began to fail, then we have to travel down a different sequence to find the failure.

    Which do you have? Do you have a fuse box or do you have circuit breakers?

    What if anything else is on the branch circuit with the fan?

    Well mom that makes 2 of us because I have never seen/heard of a fuse on a pull chain. How handy are you and do you have an electricl tester?
