    Change 100 amp to 200 amp
    I have a 100 amp panel and I want to upgrade to a 200 amp panel do I need to change the meter base or will it take care of what I need how can I tell

    The utility serving your house will be able to tell you what is needed for the upgrade. I wouldn't be surprised if they not only want a new meter base but also an outside service disconnect. In GA, this is mandated for all new service and service upgrades.

    You are looking at a service upgrade, not just a panel change.
    This is everything from the utility connections at the top of the house all the way down to the panel, including upgrading the grounding and bonding.

    An outside disconnect is not required in NJ as far as I know. There are only a few places in the US where this is mandatory.
