Can I get emancipated?
I?m 15 years old, I want to become emancipated from my Mother, and my sister. My Mother and Father are both drug addicts and are in and out of jail most of my life. My sister has taken me in as of the moment, but she is boarder line psychotic, with large anger management problems. And I?ve lost all hope in my family, and friends. I want to be able to take care of myself, and maybe bring the only sister I really have a chance in saving with me. One lives with my Brother who is just above the poverty line, and the other is in the foster care system. I don't think honestly that my sister and I will escape a similar state? Do you think I have a good enough case to get emancipated?

First, ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.
To get emancipated you will have to show that you can manage your own affairs and completely support yourself. That will be very difficult for a 15 yr old to do. |
