    What kind of warrant do I need.
    My Father is lien holder of my auto. My payments are up to date. He has taken keys from me and says he will sell car. H e is mad because I got a public intoxacation tiket. I was walking not driving. Can he legally sell car . How can I stop him. We have a contract. The contract says I paid $500 for auto and payments are $50 a month. He wants me to pay him $1500 for car. Will a detainer warrant get my car returned to me?

    Where? We need to know State and Country or else the answer may be too generic for your purpose.

    In general you have a written contract. He cannot simply disregard it if you are up to date with your payments and comply with any other terms.
