My Father is lien holder of my auto. My payments are up to date. He has taken keys from me and says he will sell car. H e is mad because I got a public intoxacation tiket. I was walking not driving. Can he legally sell car . How can I stop him. We have a contract. The contract says I paid $500 for auto and payments are $50 a month. He wants me to pay him $1500 for car. Will a detainer warrant get my car returned to me?
