Air handler blower motor buzzes won't turn
Hi, I have 2 Carrier Weathermaker 8000 AC & heater units. Recently on one, the LED Thermostat went blank & unit stopped working. I switched out T-stats with my other unit and it also went blank showing both are working. However, when the Fan on the T-stat is switched from "Auto" to "ON" there is a loud humming noise coming from the air handler. I tested wires coming out of wall to T-stat and going into the air handler control board and they read 27 V. I isolated the buzzing noise to the blower motor. Then I switched capacitors with my good unit and the problem persisted. Does this mean I need an new fan motor?

    Thanks for you help

Sounds that way... are you getting 120v to the blower motor?

I have York forced-air furnace, about 17 years old. When I turn the system on, the blower motor makes a buzzing noise, but doesn't turn the fan.
