Who follows me and how do I accept them?
My mother and grandmother said I was a spooky child and from before I could speak it appeared I could see things or people others couldn't, I'd sit bolt up in bed as a toddler and appear to be trance like,
1 day around 5 years old I seen a woman who came into my bedroom and explained she missed my dad and to tell him she loved him, it turned out I perfectly described my dads grandmother who had died shortly before I was born, I'd never seen a photo of her despite been too young to 'imagine' such things,

As I grew up I used to show friends how I could make the porcelain masks ribbons move by asking them to and I thought it was entertaining to even prove my room was haunted by telling the cd player to turn off and on again, which it did as I said most of the time,
This was before I hit around puberty and realised this was scary stuff and not just something I'd made up, not everyone's rooms were cold like mine, I'd always thought my room was haunted,
It seemed that I realised it was 'me' rather than my room, I didn't feel quite as comfortable in other houses feeling like I had company I didn't know if it was 'my ghost' or that houses,
I've had all sorts of strange encounters from tin cans been put in the bottom of a bin to jumping out and landing standing up to been woken by a ghost looking identical to my sister on Christmas morning, apparently my grandmother who died before I was born looks like my sister I'm assuming it was her but because I was scared and asked her to leave I seen her cowering in the corner days later looking frightened of me this time.

I moved houses in 2003 and I felt this house was haunted, I bought a caravan it feels haunted, when we visit hotels they feel haunted, is it me or the places I'm visiting? When I ask them to go away they do but I then feel bad for not allowing them through,
My sister had a full term still born in 2003 this year I've felt haunted by a young child around 7 I think it may be her but I'm too scared to let her through to me,
Its not just a young spirit I'd say I feel different 1's around 2-3 times a year and they're pretty persistent despite my asking them to leave, perhaps its because they know I'm interested but too scared and they hope I'll not be scared this time?
Typing this I'm aware that the outside light kept flashin?

Who are all these spirits? Are they my family? Is it the houses spirits? I used to feel unique as an adult I just feel spooked

For your family to say that you're a spooky child. That probably does not make you feel any better does it?

As far as this activity, is it you, is it others? Who really knows? Do you feel you have control over it?

There are many children that have varying degrees of gifts I call them. Some have them more then others. To say your unique, you are.

When did you start getting scared about this? Do others know what you experience? Friends? Etc...

You are obviously well aware of things that others are not. What is your background any kind of religion or denominations? Have you sought the advice of any kind of advice or training for your experiences. How to control them. How to harness this for the good?

Have you ever been checked out medically physically. The thing is certain functions in the brain can cause lots of symptoms too. It would not hurt to look into that as well.

No it doesn't help to be told I was a spooky child and it most likely contributed to me becoming scared of it,
I'd say around 12 years old I started getting worried and scared, I have control over it enough that when I 'feel' it coming close I cut it off but its not a thing I can turn on at all,
There are a few close people know what I experience and they share in it too so its not a medical problem I have, but others agree that without me around the energy doesn't seem to be around at all,

I haven't looked into it with professionals at all, in truth I wouldn't know where to start, I just happened to discuss this with a friend today and thought id see if I could research more into it tonight,
There's no family history of anything spiritual that I'm aware of

Very interesting... There are many schools of thoughts. See many people are taught or thinking is experiences like that are spooky. The more fear you have the more of that feeds into the energy of it. You need to not let people rub their fear on you.

So they come in but you only have control of how much but you can not turn it off. There are people out there with gifts as well, that will train you how to shut it off if you want.

The reason why I asked about religion or beliefs is that maybe visiting a priest or minister would be beneficial in case there are energies there you do not want.

Have you ever done any type of meditation. Meditations can help you practice your focus on your thoughts and energies.

The thing is I am sure there are good energies and bad energies. Opening yourself completely will open yourself to all of them, I am sure you do not want that. That is why your holding back.

How do you know there is nothing medical going on. The brain and how it works is a mysterious thing. Not saying that it is not real, because I completely believe in these experiences and have had my own personal experiences in the past, but there is a history in the family. Dreams coming true, knowing things before they happen. Different things like that.

Yes researching is very important. It is good you have some support and a close friends that know your experiences. That is important too.

If I think of anything else or find more information for you that I think will help you I will add it at a later time.

Thank you for your question and I am sure others will write their thoughts on your experiences too.

As a librarian, my suggestion is to go to your local public library and talk with a reference librarian about doing research on this. There's lots of information available on the Internet, but librarians still are able to find even more in print sources that haven't been scanned and put on web sites.

I am trying to think of good subject headings for searching; the reference librarian will be helpful there too. You will want scientific studies as well as anecdotal evidence (personal stories).

Shelly, I'm comfortable saying it has less to do with your home and more to do with you. However, with your situation I am not with the mainstream thought. I do not prescribe to the idea that some people are more spiritually gifted, unique, sensitive or whatever you want to call it. I would describe it more like people, such as yourself, just happen to be manifested to more than others. It is not the ability of yourself, but the spirits that are around and with you that do this. Now WHY those spirits have chosen to manifest to you so much may take some digging around. It very well may come down to some religious practices in your FAMILY'S past... there are other possibilities as well. My suggestion, until you really get this figured out, would be to try and block their manifestations as much as possible. For now, tell them they are not welcome and ask them to leave. Don't worry, you're not going to hurt their feelings.

I hate the way I look. I'm 22, and I don't look great like other women my age. I've always been called ugly, since I was in middle school. I hate that I have really thin hair (and it happened naturally, it's not thinning, it's just thin so it can't be helped naturally). I just dislike my face,...

To Accept or Not Accept a Gift [ 10 Answers ]

It's the Christmas season, so yesterday I spent the day making cookies which were then wrapped in a decorative tin that I gave to a male co-worker as a thank you for help done at work and for the occasional ride home from work.
