Food stamps are determined by the entire household's income - not two separate incomes like you propose. They will cut one or the other benefits. You cannot legally both collect. If you try to circumvent this rule then you and he will be guilty of food stamp fraud and you could end up in jail and/or losing your benefits for months and possibly years due to this. Best to only have one person collecting in the household for evryone.

It makes no difference if he claims you on his taxes or not. If he is collecting disability he does not have to file income taxes. Now if you were to get a part time job you could add him and claim him when you two live together if you pay for his housing/food, etc.

Some states would not let you just "transfer" food stamps either as they require up to a 60 day waiting period if you left one state for another. I don't remember off hand what Florida's residency requirements are.

Food stamp offices DO cross reference home addresses AND you will have to prove where you are living in Florida showing rent receipts or mortgage payments and utility receipts. They don't just take your word for these expenditures.

Why are you not collecting chid support payments for your son? This could add to your monthly income.
