Ok. Me and my ex broke up over a year ago. We've been on a roller coaster since then. We've gone from hating each other and not talking to talking and being mean to each other to trying to be friends to laughing and joking like best friends. I still haven't seen him since the break up but we always text. And now he's flirting. And I have to admit, he has always had my heart, even when he was at his cruelest. But he was the one that broke up with me. And I know he doesn't want a relationship with me, because he just admitted he still has feelings for me but then I tried to talk to him more and talk about us hanging out (as friends) he totally pushed me away. I don't know what to do. I always set myself up for a heartache with him. I keep hoping, wishing that we'll get back together and wind up broken in the end. I still love him. And I know he has feelings for me too but he doesn't want to pursue them. What should I do? I need advice. Help!! :'(

If his intentions are keeping you on the sidelines, which is not good for you, and that is what he appears to be doing, you should break off all contact, disappear from the picture all together. Don't answer his messages. Don't try to text him.

Sometimes you have to cut your losses and get on with your life. You may have to do it without him, but how long can you go on taking snippets of affections only to have him back off? Find someone who deserves your love; he certainly doesn't.
