How to take parental rights away
I have 2 children with my ex-husband. The first was born during the marriage and she is now 9. we were divorced when she was 1 and I have full custody and he has visitation with his parents. He has only paid about $100 in child support these 8 years. We also had another child after we were divorced. He is now 5. We have never established any child support for him. I am remarried and have a child with my new husband and my husband has been raising all 3 for 5 years now and would like to adopt them. My x is not in his kids life he may call 1 or 2 times a year and say he is sending money but never does has not been around during birthdays or Christmas in over 3 years. He is in and out of jail and rehab all the time. I want to get his rights taken away, is this possible?

Possible but a long shot. If you just wanted his rights taken away I would sais no. But since your husband wants to adopt, you MAY be able to get a court to agree to it if he doesn't.

However, if he is agreeable (and he might agree since he would no longer be liable for support), then it is no problem.

Since you need an attorney to prepare the adoption petition, shop around for an attorney and the attorney can tell you whether you stand a chance of getting his rights terminated.
