How do you wire an AC booster fan to the furnace blower relay?
Well, there a lot of chatter out there about how to wire an AC or furnace booster in-line duct fan. The best advice I've gotten about how to use a sail switch for this was at this site, so now I'll ask how to do it another way.
There must be an EZ way to wire a booster fan directly to the HVAC blower, so that it will kick in both when the AC is running or the furnace is running. I've seen toins of conflicting advice about this. Can I simply run a wire from the common hot wire on the furnace blower to the booster fan, so that the booster comes on whenever the HVAC blower turns on? Exhaust fan (120 volt) has a relay that turns on the furnace fan(like a HRV does). I put in an AC and every time the exhaust fan is used the AC turns on. I know that there is supposed to be a relay, but it has been so long since I did one I don't remember why or how. Thanks, Brad
