    2008 troy bilt bronco hard to shift, and won't stop when braked
    This is the second time this month that I've asked about this problem. First, I received an answer to replace the VSP;
    I took the pulley off and checked it, it looked fine slid up and down easily and showed no wear.I chatted with the expert and told him of the event and said that I was going to try a new upper belt also; and he agreed. At that point I accepted his answer. I then ordered the other belt and the VSP as well. I visually inspected the new pully and compared it with the older one and they were identical.After replacing the belts and new pully;I'm right back where I started. except my wallet wallet is about $140.00 lighter.[upper and lower drive belt,Variable Speed Pully,shipping charges, and $17.00 I had to pay to 'Just Answer' for what I thought was the answer]

    The folks at the other web site, Just Answer, probably had more info about the problem. We'd be starting from scratch here. The difficult and most frustrating part for this and all websites is that we are not on site. It's a bit like sitting with a blind doctor telling him where it hurts. I think your issue is more related to linkage adjustment. However, have you considered taking it to a shop for their estimate and read on the problem?

    No,I idon't consider taking it to the shop. Turn-around-time is about 4-5 weeks, and they'll charge $35 to $40 just to look at it. If Troy Bilt or MTD would provide their costomers with a proper tech. manual, any mechanic could find the problem. I have been a mechanic since 1956, and like any other mech, working on something different, it helps to have diagrams and trouble shooting assistance, Thanks for your response.

My 2004 bronco has just started to die on me after cutting about 3/4 of my half acre yard. It runs fine and then as if it has bound up it sputters and then dies. I wait a minute and it restarts and will make about one pass before it does the same thing over again. Here's what I done so far: new...

Troy bilt bronco won't start [ 2 Answers ]

I have a Troy Bilt Bronco and when you turn the key nothing happens. The same thing happened last year while it was under warranty, so I called place where it was fixed and they told me it was a blown fuse. In an answer you wrote a couple years ago, you said there were two fuses. I only found...

Troy Bilt Super Bronco [ 1 Answers ]

Looking for a diagram of a Super Bronco deck. Had to replace a tension spring but don't think is in the correct place. The diagram in the manual isn't too clear on the springs placement. The belt is very loose and doesn't have the cutting power it used to.
