    Based on true stories
I remember from the mid 80s until about the late 90s, early 2000s there used to be great TV movies on all the time based on true stories usually involving someone who was the victim of a terrible crime or illness but made miraculous recoveries. But now there seems to be very few if any on anymore. It's a shame. Does anyone remember some of the better ones? The ones I remember most are David (1988), Aftermath, a test of love (1990), Face value, the Marla Hanson Story (1991), The Karen Carpenter Story (1989), A cry for help, the Tracy Thurman story (1989), the Theresa Saldana story (1984), Tagged, the Jonathan Wamback story (2005). There are many more but these were very memorable and scary because they were true. Please help me remember some others, mainly from the mid 80s to late 90s.

Oh yes, they were the days, love my TV movies, I have been taping them since the early 80s right through until they stopped showing them, have them all stored in crates, and love rewatching them, have been able to buy quite a few on DVD, I also bought heaps of rare ones on VHS when my local video shop was making space for DVD'S and have managed to transfer many of them to discs(except for the few I wasn't able to get round the copyright) anyway, here's a few more to refresh your memory.

    SUNSHINE (1973) Cristina Raines
    MURDER OF INNOCENCE (Valerie Bertinelli)
OUR GUYS (Shame of Glenridge High) Heather Matarazzo)
    BABY SNATCHER (Veronica Hamel)
    STRANGE VOICES (Nancy McKeon)

    FAMILY OF STRANGERS (Melissa Gilbert)
IN A CHILD'S NAME (Valerie Bertinelli)
    SWITCHED AT BIRTH (Bonnie Bedelia)
    ANY MOTHER'S SON (Bonnie Bedelia)
JUDGEMENT DAY The Ellie Nesler Story)
SINS OF THE MOTHER (Elizabeth Montgomery)
    BEFORE HE WAKES (Jaclyn Smith)
    THE DISAPPEARING ACT (Patty Duke)
    VOWS OF DECEPTION (Cheryl Ladd)
    SMALL SACRIFICES (Farrah Fawcett)
    THE BURNING BED (Farrah Fawcett)
    EMPTY CRADLE (Kate Jackson)
    THE STRANGER WITHIN (Kate Jackson)
There are heaps more, some of the TV movies not based on true stories were quite good as well.
    TAINTED BLOOD
    THE ART OF MURDER
    THE STEPDAUGHTER
    THE SISTER-IN-LAW
WHEN THE DARK MAN CALLS etc etc
