How to put the drain plug back?
I was trying to remove the drain plug from my bathtub to make it easier to clean up the clog.

It was easy to unscrew it off. But I can't put the plug back because the stick at the bottom of the drain plug is way too short to reach the screw inside the drain. HOW COME? I didn't cut it...

    Is there a trick?

    Hi Askunot...

I'm thinking you are talking about the grid strainer and machine screw, right? If so, the screw is meant to catch by just a thread or two and then you tighten the screw so that the grid strainer seats properly but the screw doesn't protrude past the cross bar and catch hair, soap, etc..,. that's why they make the screw just sooo long, OK? To fix this, you should just need to barely catch the screw thread in the hole in the cross bar and then push down hard to finish engaging and spin that screw in. It certainly can be a bit tricky/frustrating, but with patience you'll get it just fine!

If you are talking about a pop-top drain stopper check to be sure the stopper is fully "popped" and then try the stopper again...

    Good luck!

Thank you so much, I figure this out after visiting HomeDepot. HomeDepot people are fantastic. They showed me how to pop the end of the stopper to extend it!

    And it works.
