    Furnace not working properly
LP furnace in a mobile home. Was working fine until power outage 2 days ago. Plenty of fuel in tank(about 100 gallons) Got up the next day and house was cold. Turned thermostat off then back on and heat came on. Came in from work that night and furnace wasn't working. Will start to work, fan comes on, electronic igniter comes on, gas valve clicks, burner ignites, gas valve clicks a few more times and furnace goes off. This is a new gas valve, was replaced 7 weeks ago, as was the module and blower motor. I got the furnace to come on and stay on by taking off the thermostat and twisting the white and red wires together.

Suggestions as to what might be going on? Hate calling a $70.00 an hour repair man (got took bad by one during the last repairs) if this is something I can fix myself. I am thinking its not acting like its proving the flames.. maybe the flame sensor is bad? OR??

Thanks to any replies and suggestions.

I would try another stat if you have a spare or can borrow one. Since you can get the furnace to run by shorting/by-passing the stat, it could be your problem. I would never suggest buying a new one and very carefully unwrapping it and testing it.

Sounds like your thermostat is bad... but I wonder why... But yes, red and white is gas valve.

my furnace would turn on and then off again after about 2 seconds. After watching a video in you tube, I cleaned the flame sensor also called thermocouple and the furnace started to run continuously. I learned in you tube that the if the flame sensor is corroded this symptom will occur. Additionally, when the flame sensor is corroded and doesn't become too hot, it will turn off instantly as a safety precaution. I found this video very helpful.
