Can I move out at 18?
I am 17 and I can't wait to turn 18. My mom is trying to say that I am not allowed to move out when I am 18 and I have to wait until I am 19. Is this true?

In most states, you can enter into an agreement for a place to rent at age 18.
The real questions are:
a) do you have money saved up for a security deposit?
b) do you have income to pay rent?
Do your homework. Call around about places for rent and ask them if they will rent to you based on no credit or rental history... but if you have a good paying job and some money saved up then you will have what most of them want.

The legal age of majority is locality dependent, generally 18 in the U.S. with certain states being exceptions.
Word is allowed. Best of luck.

I wish I had kids like you.
You are an inspiration to all of us parents who are broke, dissed, and wondering "why did I think this was this a good idea?"
The word is I'll.

ANY question on law needs to include your general locale as laws vary by area.
Whether you are still in school doesn't have a bearing. It depends on the law and since you haven't told is where you are, we can't tell you the law.
But more than the law, you have to be able to afford to move out. Can you?

Again for what ever reason, you are not saying where you live, but yes in general at 18 you can move out if you live in the US.

Generally you are still a minor and you cannot move away. That's the law.

Yes-if your father takes your mother to the court for custody modification, you will be asked for your preferences, but the judge is the person who decides!

Not true. While I agree that a sixteen year old preference has its weight in the Court that does not mean the preference will prevail in a custody case.

Please do not use Comment option.Use Answer this question option.
Your grandmother does not have legal standing to file for custody until your mother is recognized by the Court as unfit parent.

The next month after my landlady was upset and was rude to me because I did not pay the rent 3 days early, I dropped off my rent and was told to move in 30 days so a relative could move in. Since I had paid last month's rent (is that legal or should it be security?) he told me I could have 60 days....
