    Expansion Tank Location
    Do I need to install my expansion tank on the cold water ininput side or the hot water output side of mt water heater and is there a specific distance away?

    Hi Modrenjason...

    Expansion tank usually goes on the cold water inlet to the water heater... see image below.

    Be sure to hang the expansion tank really well because when/if it fails it will fill with water and can weigh 30-40 lbs and will break the pipes if not hung properly... so be aware of that, OK?
