    Rough in Cost Basement plumbing
I live in Kentucky. We are building a new home. I have a genral contractor and he hired a plumber to rough in the basement plumbing. It is all wrong. He put my bar sink in the middle of the room... In the bathroom I wanted a sink, urinal, and a toilet.. he plumbed it for a sink, toilet and a shower. He forgot to put in any floor drains which I asked for. When I told him about he mistake the said he would fix it but that the floor drains are considered Openings and he charged $400 an opening. So he wants me to pay $400 each for two floor drains. Remember all the plumbing in the basement is rough in, I don't plan on finishing until about a year after the house is built. I guess what I am asking is how much rough in plumbing should cost and is a floor drain really considered an opening?

First off the plumber doesn't work for you, he is a sub to the general. There should be prints and bids from the plumber, do the drains and fixtures show on what was provided to him for his estimate? Yes drains are openings and they connect to drain pipes, are there any under the floor where you want the floor drins?

I recently bough a new house and had the basement plumbing roughed in for a toilet, sink and shower. I'm a pretty good DIY guy, but I've never tackled plumbing from a rough in stage. It's pretty obvious what to do to install the toilet (there is a pipe shooting up about 4" in diameter. ) Looks like...

Hello Experts, I recently bought a 2-year old house that had a rough-in in the basement and wanted to make sure I knew what all the pipes are. There are three pipes sticking out of the cement. The big one is obviously the toilet, the one with the cut-out around it I think is for the shower,...
