My 1992 Honda accord cranks for a long time before it starts
My 1992 honda accord has a starting problem. I get in the car and put the crank it up. When I turn the key, I hold it cracked for at least 6 seconds and then it starts. When it starts it seems as if the battery is dying cause the lights on my dash get low. Never have to crank more than once, just have to hold it for at least 6 seconds before it fires up. When it finally starts up and I walk to the back of the car I can hear a sputtering sound as if the car isn't breathing properly in the muffler. I just had my valve cover gasket changed and the seal rings changed cause when I pulled out my spark plug wires it had oil dripping from it. After I changed it there is no more oil on the plugs. They are all on nice and snug. My oil looks good and doesn't look like chocolate milk. Its not a rich dark color. The indicator on the dash for a tune up is red and no longer green so I know I'm due for a tune up. My car is over after I drive and I am aware that my radiator is as old as the car and needs to be changed. There is corrosion on the positive post that I cleaned a month before it built up again. I can't understand the long start and symptom of battery drain during start. I can turn it off after the first start and start it back up and it starts fine. Leave it sitting for at least 6 minutes and it will have the same long start. Does anyone know what could be the problem?

. Remove and fully charge, or replace, the battery. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. Clean battery terminals and cable connections.

. Replace the spark plugs (NGK only).

    . Check the charging system:
