Hello, I would like to change my oven circuit breaker switch wich is burned (noise sound in it when oven's running). The old one is a double switch screwed together wich is write 40 on it. I bought a new one written 40 amp on it. It's a double circuit breaker but with just one switch. I supposed it's the same thing right? When I pulled off the cover (main switch power OFF) The double breaker figure a red and a black wired. There is a polarity on that thing? Cause single breaker only have one wire. What is the good way to do this. Put the new breaker switch with wire at the same place(order) as the old one? Is it dangerous to inverse wire for a double breaker switch?

Yes, it's the same only a newer design. The old breaker must be rigged if it has a screw through the trips. There is no polarity to speak of in AC since it changes 60 times per second and you can't measure it. Put red on 1 side, black on the other, tighten well! insert breaker and turn the main back on.

Nice! Was pretty easy. Just need after to unplug/plug the oven to make a full reset on it because there are no fuze on that moffat oven series and after breaker switch was changed only the oven was functional not the stove.
