Why do I keep being really violent and depressive?
For about 3 years, Ive been suffering from really aggressive mood swings, and I keep finding myself crying after these mood swings for hours on end. Really, I haven't got any reason to be upset, because I've got a boyfriend, who I've been with for nearly 2 years, and I love him to bits, and my family-life is fine. But over the past year, my mental health has really started to worry me, as I find it hard to trust anyone,I've began to start feeling really paronoid and jealous, even to the point of accusing my boyfriend of not caring about me, or cheating. I have even lost some of my close friends because of this. But I'm afraid to go to the doctors in-case I end up getting locked away in some sort of asylum :L, and I don't want my boyfriend to see me all drugged up on medication.
Please help, because I have no idea what to-do, and if I don't get an idea of what's wrong with me soon, I'm really afraid that I'll lose all the people close to me, and all my confidence.
Any help/ideas would be helpful.. from Grace x

YOu really NEED to seek out professional assistance. Before you do something during one of your aggressive mood swings that might land you in jail or worse.

And that might happen a lot sooner than you expect... and happen quite easily.

There isn't the stigma there once was for seeking help. THe only thing to be ashamed of is not seeking help for something that if treated can let you lead a normal life. Who says you need anything like you have described? You might only need something with so few or no side effects only you and your boyfriuend would know you are taking them.

Trust me... one on one sessions with the right doctor can acess what your issues are and to what extent far better than we could ever do online. They won't keep it a secret from you... and who knows... its even possible there will be ways to help you deal with the issues without medication via some form of counseling.

You could be bipolar with a tinge of paranoia. You could have an anxiety disorder. You could even have allergies that have affected your body's and brain's chemistry.

Find a good therapist who can diagnose you and figure out (with your input) what to do next. Meds? Maybe. Hospitalization? Probably not at this point, if ever. Counseling? Definitely!

Getting help for this will be the best money you ever spent.

    How old are you?

I don't believe full sanity can be achieved before 35.
