    4 yr old with fever
My 4 y/o daughter has been taking azithromycin for the past 3 days. She's been running a fever between 101.4 to 102.1. I'm alternating tylenol with motrin. How long should she be running this fever. She just seems to sleep. She's also has a constant cough that starts in the evening and continues while she sleeps. What can I do to help her?

While this fever is not terribly high, the fact that its persisted for 3 days is worrisome. Did she have the fever before starting the medication? Have you talked to her pediatrician?

Scott is correct. The fever is a concern as the tylenol and motrin aren't knocking it out, even temporarily.

After 3 days of antibiotics, this should have resolved by now.

Time for a call to the pediatrician.
