Worn-out steering sector plate on Troybilt 42" mower.
I have a 2006 Troybilt 42" mower & lost all steering last weekend. I decided to go ahead & replace the worn out pinion gear & the sector plate. I have everything apart (including removing the gas tank), but can't seem to find a way to gain access to the bolts holding the sector plate on. I couldn't find any access holes beneath my gas tank & I see no way to get a wrench into the slim space where the top of the bolts are. Any advice on this tricky devil?
