    Potty training my rat
    I have 2 male rats chocco and chip they are very loving towards me and all ways want cuddles and there not afraid to come see me but every time there snuggling into my neck they pee is there something I can do to potty train them??

    (I`v had them nearly 2 months)

    Unfortunately that's just what rats do... males are worse for it.

    They aren't actually peeing on you because they need to pee, they are marking you as 'theirs'.
    Rats use droplets of urine to mark their scent on things.

    I have 2 female hooded rats that still pee on me and they are toilet trained.

    I would suggest having some rat clothes... just an old t-shirt (preferably a few sizes too big) that you don't mind getting dirty and you don't mind being nibbled!

    Do you have a litter box in the cage? They can be trained 100% on pooping in their litter box, but the urinating unfortunately, comes with the territory so to speak.

    The litter tray I use is just a tupperware container with some sandy cat litter in it.

    With mine I found that they always tended to go in the same corner of their cage so that's where I put the litter tray. If they pooped anywhere else I scooped it up and put it in the tray, they got the hang of it really fast.
