    What is the resultant acceleration of the package if;

    *
    M = 155 kg
    *
    Gradient = 1 in 10
    *
    Total resistance to motion = 20 N
    *
    g=9.81 m/s2

    The gravitational force trying to pull the package down the ramp is , where is the angle of the ramp. Can you calculate the force?

    Meanwhile, the force opposing the downward slide is 20N. So between that and the gravitational force pulling it down the ramp, what's the total force acting on the package?

    Once you know the force, do you know how to calculate the acceleration?

    Can you show us how you got the force?

    Also, to get the acceleration, use: F = ma

    where F is the net force acting on the package, m is the mass and a is the acceleration.

    Wrong! It has a mass of 155 kg. I can assure you that gravity is pulling on it.

    Flufy87, Now that Unknown008 told you how to calculate the acceleration, what do you get for an answer?
