    Sink won't drain, pipes taken apart all clear
    A family member thought it was a good idea to put orange peels down our garbage disposal; now the kitchen sink drain very slowly. All the pipes were taken apart and everything is clear. In addition, the garbage disposal is working and is only 2 years old. Any ideas on what it could be...
    Trying not to call a plumber.

    Orange peel should be OK in a disposer, unless it flattened under a blade.
    When you run the disposer, it all goes right down?
    You could have a clog under the floor at the first bend.

    When mine wore out it kept working but wasn't grinding up much of anything.
    I took it out and said no more.
    I compost.
    And there's a lot more room under the sink, I can get to the trap, and I wonder why I didn't get rid of it sooner.

I would like to install the kitchen sink about 4-5 feet from the drain pipe that the plumber installed for this sink. Can I run the drain pipe that distance ? The cold and hot water feeds are the same distance away as well. Can this be done?
