    I need an iPhone expert!
Here's the deal, I have an Iphone 3G. The first problem was that the home button stopped responding. I went to bed and it was working perfectly, then when I woke up it just didn't work... I took it to a rogers kiosk (who is my service provider) and he said that since Im not on warranty I am basically SOL. Then my "smart" friend suggested I had dirt in my home button and if I was to take the screen off and clean it, I'd be good. So he did that, when he put it back together he must have messed something up because now the home button or the touch screen isn't working. It is showing everything fine, just the touch won't work.

I can't restart it since the home button can't work.
    I've restored it
I can't turn it off and on again because the touchscreen doesn't work

Anyone have any suggestions? Im about to try anything since the phone is worthless anyway now...

Did you remove the battery so it can go back to factory default? Leave it out overnight.

Usually when you remove a battery from a phone it loses the "memory" and clears existing error codes. Then it resets to factory default.

All right I'll definantly try that and see if it helps :)

By chance do you know what part is respoinsible for the touch screen. There is three little things that connect when you are putting the screen back on... do you know which one controls the touch?

Not really unless you know someone that can work on them or a tech at the store that can be bribed with a latte.

Hmm. I think it will cost more than a latte :(...

Maybe I can find someone who does it as a hobby and get it fixed cheap... It'll cost me $200 to get it fixed at a local store...
