    Refund on defective Blackberry
Brought a blackberry bold for my daughter for christmas , purchased on 6 December 2010 still have receipt, I purchased this phone from cash converters for £220. It worked fine to start with but then message kept coming up saying insert sim so thinking it was faulty sim card brought another sim . This happened another time so replaced sim again now the sim card working fine but she can not send text messages . The cash converters returns policy is for 56 days and we past that now . Can I still expect a full refund ?

What country did this occur in to start with... its clearly not the USA, Canada, Australia, or New Zealand. Laws vary greatly.

    Hello s:

Most manufacturers offer at least a one year warranty. I'd check with them. In either case, I don't think you'll get your money back.. At best you'll get a new blackberry.

Since you bought the phone from a pawnbroker I'm unsure if the manufacturer's warranty is still in effect since some are not transferable. Is it possible that the issue may be with your provider and not the hardware?

" £220", and the use of the word "solicitor" suggests that it's the UK. I still haven't figured out what the "A" means. :)

I think its jibberish due to the language pack installed on their machine is different than ours. Some of our special character will do the same on theirs if they view it too. Yes the brits have different keyboards and language packs as do non english speakers. Trust me... try Using an Italian keyboard on a machine using an Italian version of Windows sometime when you are typing in english. Without resorting to cutting and pasting from the character map in accessories. Talk about frustration

Also... warrantees vary country to country... and the same product sold in the US with a one year warranty in Europe may have a warranty of only several months.
