    Defective Fan?
    Hi,

My central air system stopped working...

I set the thermostat below room temp and to cool, blower kicks in but blows room temperature air.

I go outside and see that the fan is not kicking in(I hear a buzzing sound and every 10seconds or so I hear a click where the fan/blades are about to turn but they don't)
Actually yesterday it ran for about 15min and then stopped.

Since I have dual zones (two separate identical units and fans) my action plan is to replace the fan/motor with the second unit's one which would involve cutting/splicing wires.

So I'd just like your opinion on this? Am I targeting the right problem and is my action plan solid or will I just create more problems for myself?

    Thanks for your input!
