I have a 95 honda civic with the 1.5 . Problems with electrical are windshield wipers come on by themselves, car sputters and dies then restarts, inside light stays on with the door shut{i just leave the switch off},and the beep you hear when you leave the key in the ignition when you shut the car off goes off with no key in the ignition. Any ideas . Maybe main relay?

I don't suspect the main relay.

. Check all under hood and under dash fuses with a test light or multimeter:

. Check (or replace) the ignition switch for wear, pitting, or melting:

. Replace the Ignition Control Module (ICM) and coil, if the CEL comes on for 2 seconds and then goes out, after the ignition switch is turned to ON (Position II):

Replace the ICM and coil, if the ignition switch checks out O.K. and the car still dies on you.

I replaced the distributor a few months ago. I was getting a code 9 (cyp). Replaced the fuel pump early last year also. Died on the highway again this morning then restarted. Could not hear fuel pump kick on. Sat for awhile then restarted.
