    Which hunter thermostat is needed for Heat Pump?
    WE have a Trane Thermostat and want to replace it with a Hunter Thermostat.

    It will say compatible for heat pumps on the package. The average heat pump is two stage heat one stage cool. Some have heat pumps have 2 stage compressors, then you need to get a thermostat for 3 stage heat, 2 stage cooling.
