Rule regarding salary employee and absentee?
I am a salary employee, worked 84 hours for the 2 week pay period. There was a day I was sick and a say that snowed but stayed late to compensate for those hours. Can employer make me use a sick day?

If you were off a day sick no matter how many hours you worked than yes the employer can require you to use a sick day.

I am reading a sick day and a snow day. If a salaried exempt is ready and willing to work and the company is closed for a snow day that salaried exempt must still be paid. If the salaried exempt is sick and has PTO, personal or vacation time to use the employer may use it for a sick day.

Could very wll be but I had a guy who called in sick and then we called off work due to snow. He wanted me to re-instate his sick day. We did not. Maybe this is the Ops situation

Salary VS Waged employee in NY [ 1 Answers ]

In NY If I am a salaried employee and I miss work can my pay be deducted? I just moved from CA where that was not legal but the state of NY seems to not have laws in place that protect their employees like CA does.
